Hi, I’m Ashley, a physiotherapist in Ottawa and the creator of Health Hook. I designed this directory to create a platform for my colleagues to showcase their skills and services, while assisting those looking for a service provider. My hope is for the directory to become your go-to resource, whether you’re a professional or someone searching for local services.
How It Started
As a physiotherapist, I’m often asked if I know anyone who can help with *insert health issue here*. When I don’t have a colleague to recommend, I’m not sure where to direct them. This got me thinking, what options do professionals like myself have to promote ourselves? People are looking for us, we’re ready to help, so how do we make it easier to find us?
When pursuing my own health goals, I crave specifics about my options. So just like anything these days, when I need info I go online. If you’ve ever tried to Google your way through this landscape, you quickly realize information is limited at best. Scouring through clinic websites, staff bios, Facebook pages, and seeking out success stories from individuals facing similar issues to mine is time consuming and often incomplete. For such a personal decision, searching for where to go for my next massage feels pretty impersonal. How do we make this information more available and easier to find?
